About the Artists

Douglas in studioDouglas Hansel began working with hot glass at Kent State University, where he earned his Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in 1998.   Upon graduation, he was awarded a scholarship to attend Pilchuck Glass School in Washington. Douglas then began building his home studio, where his glass artworks are created today.


DanealDaneal Ferraro Hansel discovered hot glass while attending Columbus College of Art & Design, where she earned her Bachelor's of Fine Arts degree in 1998. She has since then taught various courses at Pittsburgh Glass Center, including Flameworking, Glassblowing, Fusing & Slumping, and Stained Glass, and has exhibited her work in various galleries. In 2007 Daneal began working professionally with Kelly Art Glass Company to restore numerous historical stained glass windows in the Pittsburgh area.
